AWS Well-Architected Review

A secure and efficient architecture is the basis for applications and workloads in the cloud. With the Well-Architected Review, AWS has developed a standardized process that can be used to regularly check productive workloads. It is based on the six pillars of the Well-Architected Framework from AWS: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability. Implemented cloud services can be evaluated using these six pillars, and legal, technical or company-specific points of action can be identified.

The advantages of AWARE-ness

Speed: The Well-Architected Framework can significantly reduce time-to-market for new solutions.

Risk awareness: Critically examining your own environment heightens your awareness of risks.

Making conscious decisions: The Well-Architected Framework provides support when making decisions and prioritizing identified work packages.

AWS best practices: The content from the Well-Architected Framework is driven by empirical data from different solutions architects and is aligned with AWS best practices.

Coordination of AWARE

AWARE is not an audit!

This is a list of questions to analyze your own environment in a structured and critical way. The results are used to optimize the environment and are available to the team at all times. They can be used as evidence of improvement in accordance with a PDCA approach in an audit.

AWARE is no magic!

No comprehensive knowledge is required. You just need the knowledge of each individual team member. In the process, those taking part benefit from the individual abilities and knowledge of the other participants.

AWARE is not a one-time check!

It is a snapshot. You only achieve the maximum added value when you repeat AWARE. The areas of potential should be implemented afterward and then checked the next time you do AWARE.
